10. Amasa was nie op sy hoede vir die swaard in Joab se ander hand nie, en Joab het hom daarmee in die onderlyf gesteek, sodat sy ingewande op die grond uitgeval het. 'n Tweede steek was onnodig; hy sou sterf. Joab en sy broer Abisai het toe vir Seba seun van Bikri agtervolg.
