3. Toe koning Dawid in Jerusalem in sy paleis kom, het hy die tien vrouens, die byvrouens, wat hy agtergelaat het om die paleis op te pas, in 'n bewaakte huis gesit. Hy het hulle onderhou, maar nie by hulle geslaap nie, en hulle was tot met hulle dood afgesonder en lewenslank feitlik weduwees.
