8. het Abner hom gruwelik oor dié woorde vererg en gesê: "Dink jy dan ek is 'n lae hond wat Juda se saak wil aanhelp? Tot nou toe was ek getrou aan die huis van Saul en aan sy broers én sy vriende. Ek het verhoed dat jy in Dawid se mag val, en nou spreek jy my aan oor 'n vergryp met hierdie vrou!
