17. Verder het Saul vir Dawid gesê: Hier is my oudste dogter Merab, haar sal ek aan jou as vrou gee; wees net vir my 'n dapper man en voer die oorloë van die HERE. Want Saul het gedink: Laat my hand nie teen hom wees nie, maar laat die hand van die Filistyne teen hom wees.
