3. maar die arme het glad niks gehad nie, behalwe een klein ooilammetjie wat hy gekoop en in die lewe gehou het, en wat by hom en saam met sy kinders groot geword het; dit het van sy stukkie brood geëet en uit sy beker gedrink en in sy skoot geslaap, en dit was vir hom soos 'n dogter.
