15. Atëherë Johanani, bir i Kareahut, i tha në mënyrë të fshehtë Gedaliahut në Mitspah: "Oh, më lër të shkoj ta vras Ishmaelin, birin e Nethanjahut; askush nuk do ta mësojë. Pse duhet të të marr jetën, dhe kështu tërë Judejtë që janë mbledhur rreth teje të shpërndaheshin dhe pjesa që mbetet e Judës të vdesë?".
