15. Jóchanan, syn Káreachův, tajně navrhl Gedaljášovi v Mispě: "Když dovolíš, půjdu a zabiji Jišmaela, syna Netanjášova. Nikdo se to nedoví. Proč by měl zabít on tebe? Všichni Judejci, kteří se k tobě shromáždili, byli by rozptýleni a pozůstatek judského lidu by zahynul."
