18. Als er aber die Lade Gottes erwähnte, fiel Eli rücklings vom Stuhl neben dem Tor und brach das Genick und starb; denn er war alt und ein schwerer Mann. Er hatte aber Israel vierzig Jahre lang gerichtet.
