2. Da ließ der König die Gibeoniter rufen und redete mit ihnen. Die Gibeoniter aber gehörten nicht zu den Kindern Israel, sondern waren von den Amoritern übriggeblieben; die Kinder Israel hatten ihnen geschworen; dennoch suchte Saul sie zu schlagen in seinem Eifer für die Kinder Israel und Juda.
