27. Nachdem sie besiegt und vernichtet waren, brach Judas gegen die feste Stadt Efron auf, in der Lysias und eine Bevölkerung aus mancherlei Stämmen wohnte. Die kräftige junge Mannschaft aber, die vor der Stadt stand, wehrte sich tapfer, und drinnen hatten sie Geschütze und Geschosse genug.
