31. Als nun Nikanor sah, daß ihn Makkabäus geschickt überlistet hatte, ging er hinauf zu dem erhabenen und heiligen Tempel und befahl den Priestern, die die gebotenen Opfer darbrachten, sie sollten ihm den Mann herausgeben.
