8. Da sprach David an diesem Tage: Wer die Jebusiter schlägt und durch den Schacht hinaufsteigt und die Lahmen und Blinden erschlägt, die David verhaßt sind, der soll Hauptmann und Oberster sein. Da stieg Joab, der Sohn der Zeruja, zuerst hinauf und wurde Hauptmann. Daher spricht man: Laß keinen Blinden und Lahmen ins Haus!
