25. Als sie abzogen und ihn schwerkrank zurückließen, verschworen sich seine Diener gegen ihn wegen der Blutschuld am Sohn des Priesters Jojada und erschlugen ihn auf seinem Bett. Man begrub ihn in der Davidstadt, aber nicht in den Gräbern der Könige.
