38. Als er eines Tages im Tempel seines Gottes Nisroch betete, erschlugen ihn seine Söhne Adrammelech und Sarezer mit dem Schwert. Darauf mußten sie in das Land Ararat fliehen, und Sanheribs Sohn Asarhaddon wurde an seiner Stelle König.
