14. Als das der König von Ai sah, brach er mit den Männern der Stadt am Morgen in aller Eile auf und zog mit seinem ganzen Volk zum (sogenannten) Versammlungsplatz vor der Steppe, um gegen Israel zu kämpfen. Er wußte nicht, daß man ihm im Rücken der Stadt einen Hinterhalt gelegt hatte.
