2. Fremdeles slog han Moabiterne, og han målte dem med en Snor, idet han lod dem lægge sig ned på Jorden og afmålte to Snorlængder, der skulde dræbes, og een, der skulde blive i Live. Således blev Moabiterne Davids skatskyldige Undersåtter.
