24. Kuigi Iisraeli mehed olid sel päeval väga vaevatud, ometi vannutas Saul rahvast, öeldes: 'Neetud olgu see mees, kes sööb leiba enne õhtut ja enne kui ma olen kätte maksnud oma vaenlastele!' Ja kogu rahvas ei maitsnud leiba.
