1. Kui Iisrael läks välja Egiptusest ja Jaakobi sugu umbkeelse rahva juurest,
  
2. siis sai Juuda tema pühamuks ja Iisrael tema valitsusalaks.
  
3. Meri nägi ja põgenes, Jordan pöördus tagasi.
  
4. Mäed hüplesid otsekui jäärad, kingud nagu lambatalled.
  
5. Mis sul oli, meri, et sa põgenesid, Jordan, et sa pöördusid tagasi,
  
6. mäed, et te hüplesite otsekui jäärad, ja teie, kingud, nagu lambatalled?
  
7. Issanda palge ees värise, maa, Jaakobi Jumala palge ees,
  
8. kes muudab kalju veejärveks, ränikivi veeallikaks!
