5. When brethren dwell together, and one of them dieth, having, no son, the wife of the dead shall not marry outside to a stranger, -- her husband's brother, shall go in unto her, and take her unto him to wife and do for her as a husband's brother.

It was produced by Joseph Bryant Rotherham, a bible scholar and minister of the Churches of Christ, who described his goal as placing the reader of the present time in as good a position as that occupied by the reader of the first century for understanding the Apostolic Writings.
