19. For this cause, the country Jews, who dwelt in the country towns, were making the fourteenth day of the month Adar one of rejoicing and banqueting, and a day of happiness, -- and of sending portions every one to his neighbour.

It was produced by Joseph Bryant Rotherham, a bible scholar and minister of the Churches of Christ, who described his goal as placing the reader of the present time in as good a position as that occupied by the reader of the first century for understanding the Apostolic Writings.
