Psalms, Chapter 4
1. Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: you have enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy on me, and hear my prayer.
2. O you sons of men, how long will you turn my glory into shame? how long will you love vanity, and seek after leasing? Selah.
3. But know that the LORD has set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call to him.
4. Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart on your bed, and be still. Selah.
5. Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.
6. There be many that say, Who will show us any good? LORD, lift you up the light of your countenance on us.
7. You have put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased.
8. I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for you, LORD, only make me dwell in safety.

Text source: (c) Produced by Stone Engelbrite. This is a new translation of the Bible, based on the original King James Version. It is a simple word for word update from the King James English. I have taken care to change nothing doctrinely, but to simply update the spelling and vocabulary. I have not changed the grammar because that could alter it doctrinely. I am hereby putting the American King James version of the Bible into the public domain on November 8, 1999. Michael Peter (Stone) Engelbrite. You may use it in any manner you wish: copy it, sell it, modify it, etc. You can t copyright it or prevent others from using it. You can t claim that you created it, because you didn t.
