16. Kun aramealaiset näkivät kärsineensä tappion taistelussa Israelia vastaan, he lähettivät sananviejiä ja pyysivät Eufratin toisella puolella asuvia aramealaisia tulemaan apuun. Nämä lähtivät matkaan Hadadeserin sotaväen päällikön Sofakin johdolla.
