17. Saatuaan tästä tiedon Daavid kokosi Israelin sotavoimat ja ylitti Jordanin, ja sitten hän meni heitä vastaan ja järjesti joukkonsa taisteluun. Myös aramealaiset järjestivät joukkonsa ja ryhtyivät taisteluun Daavidia vastaan.
