21. Rehabeam tuli Jerusalemiin ja kutsui koolle koko Juudan väen ja Benjaminin heimon, satakahdeksankymmentätuhatta nuorta soturia. Heidän oli määrä lähteä sotaan Israelin valtakuntaa vastaan ja palauttaa sen kuninkuus Rehabeamille, Salomon pojalle.
