Kun Asa kuuli nämä profeetta Asarjan, Odedin pojan, sanat ja ennustukset, hän sai rohkeuden poistaa iljettävät epäjumalankuvat koko Juudan ja Benjaminin alueelta ja niistä kaupungeista, jotka hän oli valloittanut Efraimin vuoristosta. Hän myös kunnosti Herran alttarin, joka oli temppelin eteishallin edessä.
