23. Joas, Israelin kuningas, otti Bet-Semesissä vangiksi Juudan kuninkaan Amasjan, joka oli Ahasjan pojan Joasin poika. Sitten Joas vei Amasjan Jerusalemiin. Siellä hän määräsi kaupunginmuurin revittäväksi neljänsadan kyynärän matkalta, Efraiminportilta Kulmaportille saakka.
