13. Herra oli varoittanut Israelia ja Juudaa. Jokaisen profeetan, jokaisen näkijän suulla hän oli sanonut: "Kääntykää takaisin pahoilta teiltänne! Noudattakaa minun käskyjäni ja määräyksiäni ja eläkää sen lain mukaisesti, jonka minä olen antanut isillenne ja ilmoittanut teille palvelijoitteni, profeettojen, suulla."
