4. Assyrian kuningas sai sitten kuitenkin tietoonsa, että Hoosea oli ryhtynyt salahankkeisiin. Hoosea oli lähettänyt sananviejiä Egyptin kuninkaan Son luo eikä ollut enää toimittanut Assyrian kuninkaalle veroa, joka hänen piti vuosittain maksaa. Siksi Assyrian kuningas käski ottaa hänet kiinni ja panna vankilaan.
