3. Sitten kuningas nousi korokkeelle ja teki Herran edessä liiton. Sen mukaan heidän tuli seurata Herraa ja kaikesta sydämestään ja kaikesta sielustaan noudattaa hänen käskyjään, liitonehtojaan ja säädöksiään. Näin he täyttäisivät sen, mitä kirjassa oli liitosta sanottu. Koko kansa yhtyi tähän liittoon.
