8. Kuningas siirsi kaikkien Juudan kaupunkien papit Jerusalemiin, ja Gebasta Beersebaan asti hän hävitti ja kirosi kukkulat, joilla papit olivat polttaneet uhreja. Samoin hän hajotti uhripaikat, jotka sijaitsivat kaupunginpäällikkö Joosuan portin pielessä, ulkopuolelta katsoen vasemmalla puolella.
