12. Oli vielä hämärä, kun kuningas nousi. Hän sanoi hovimiehilleen: "Taidanpa arvata, mitä syyrialaiset ovat tehneet. He tietävät, että olemme nälissämme, ja ovat siksi lähteneet leiristä ja asettuneet väijyksiin. He odottavat, että me tulemme ulos kaupungista, ja ottavat sitten meidät elävältä kiinni ja pääsevät sisälle kaupunkiin."
