10. Amasa ei osannut varoa Joabin toisessa kädessä olevaa miekkaa, ja tämä pisti häntä sillä vatsaan, niin että sisälmykset valuivat maahan. Joabin ei tarvinnut iskeä häntä uudelleen, sillä hän kuoli heti. Sitten Joab ja hänen veljensä Abisai jatkoivat Seban, Bikrin pojan, takaa-ajoa.
