3. Kun kuningas Daavid oli tullut Jerusalemiin palatsiinsa, hän siirrätti sieltä vartioituun rakennukseen kymmenen sivuvaimoaan, jotka hän oli jättänyt pitämään huolta palatsista. Hän antoi heille kaiken, mitä he tarvitsivat, mutta ei enää käynyt heidän luonaan, ja he pysyivät kuolemaansa asti eristettyinä, elävän miehen leskinä.
