17. Kolmen päivän kuluttua Paavali kutsui juutalaisten johtomiehet luokseen. Kun nämä olivat saapuneet, hän sanoi: "Veljet! Minut luovutettiin Jerusalemissa roomalaisten käsiin, vaikka en ole millään tavoin rikkonut kansaamme enkä isiltä perimiämme säädöksiä vastaan. Nyt minut on tuotu vangittuna tänne.
