3. Vaikka mies saisi sata lasta ja eläisi lukemattomia vuosia -- niin monta kuin ihmisen suinkin on mahdollista elää -- niin jos hän ei kaikesta tästä huolimatta saa tyydytystä elämästään eikä edes kunniallista hautausta, minä sanon: kuolleena syntynyt on häntä onnellisempi.
