14. Silloin hänen vaimonsa Seres ja kaikki hänen ystävänsä sanoivat hänelle: "Anna pystyttää viisikymmentä kyynärää korkea hirsipuu ja pyydä huomisaamuna kuninkaalta, että Mordokai hirtetään siihen. Sitten voit iloisella mielellä mennä kuninkaan kanssa pitoihin." Hamanista se oli hyvä neuvo, ja hän antoi pystyttää hirsipuun.
