Kun vein heidät maahan, jonka valalla vannoen olin luvannut antaa heille, he heti riensivät uhraamaan, missä vain näkivät korkean kukkulan tai viheriöivän puun, uhrasivat teurasuhreja ja antoivat lahjoja, jotka nostattivat minun vihani. He toivat sinne tuoksuvia suitsutusuhrejaan ja vuodattivat siellä juomauhrinsa.
