12. Aikaisemmin hän oli ottanut osaa yhteisiin aterioihin pakanuudesta kääntyneiden kanssa. Mutta kun sinne oli tullut Jaakobin luota muutamia miehiä, hän jäi pois ja eristäytyi kääntyneistä, koska pelkäsi niitä, jotka vaativat ympärileikkausta.
