8. (H40:7-8)He ja heidän miehensä saivat tietää, että Babylonian kuningas oli määrännyt Gedaljan, Ahikamin pojan, Juudan käskynhaltijaksi ja asettanut hänen alaisuuteensa ne miehet, naiset ja lapset, maassa olevat köyhät, joita ei ollut viety pakkosiirtolaisuuteen Babyloniaan. Silloin päälliköt miehineen lähtivät Mispaan tapaamaan Gedaljaa.
