8. Auringon noustua Herra pani kuuman itätuulen puhaltamaan, ja aurinko paahtoi Joonan päähän, niin että hän oli nääntymäisillään. Silloin Joona olisi tahtonut kuolla, ja hän sanoi: "Parempi minun on kuolla kuin elää."
