39. He kukistivat Debirin ja sen kuninkaan, valtasivat seudun kaikki muutkin kaupungit ja surmasivat kaupunkien asukkaat. Joosua julisti ihmiset ja eläimet Herralle kuuluvaksi uhriksi ja surmasi kaikki säästämättä ainoatakaan. Joosua teki Debirille ja sen kuninkaalle samoin kuin oli tehnyt Libnalle ja sen kuninkaalle.
