6. Filistealaiset kyselivät toisiltaan: "Kuka tämän teki?" He saivat tietää, että tuhotyön oli tehnyt Simson, timnalaisen miehen vävy, kostoksi siitä, että mies oli häiden jälkeen antanut tyttärensä Simsonin sulhaspojalle. Silloin filistealaiset lähtivät Timnaan ja polttivat sekä tytön että hänen isänsä.
