1. Asafin psalmi. Jumala astuu esiin jumalien kokouksessa ja julistaa jumalille tuomionsa:
  
2. "Kuinka kauan te poljette oikeutta ja pidätte väärintekijöiden puolta? (sela)
  
3. Puolustakaa orpoja ja onnettomia, huolehtikaa köyhistä ja kurjista.
  
4. Pelastakaa heikot ja vähäväkiset, vapauttakaa heidät sortajien käsistä.
  
5. Te ette tiedä ettekä ymmärrä mitään, te harhailette pimeässä, ja maan perustukset järkkyvät.
  
6. Kuulkaa! Vaikka olette jumalia, kaikki tyynni Korkeimman poikia,
  
7. te kuolette niin kuin ihminen kuolee, sorrutte kuin vallasta syösty ruhtinas!"
  
8. Nouse, Jumala, saata maan päällä oikeus kunniaan! Sinun ovat kaikki kansat.
