12. Ja vartioston miehet huusivat Joonatanille ja hänen aseenkantajalleen ja sanoivat: "Nouskaa tänne meidän luoksemme, niin me ilmoitamme teille jotakin". Silloin sanoi Joonatan aseenkantajallensa: "Nouse minun perässäni, sillä Herra on antanut heidät Israelin käsiin".
