17. Ja kuningas sanoi henkivartijoille, jotka seisoivat hänen luonaan: "Käykää tänne ja surmatkaa Herran papit, sillä hekin pitävät Daavidin puolta; ja vaikka tiesivät hänen paenneen, eivät he ilmoittaneet sitä minulle". Mutta kuninkaan palvelijat eivät tahtoneet ojentaa kättään lyömään kuoliaaksi Herran pappeja.
