25. Kun he sitten lähtivät häntä ahdistamasta-ja hän jäi heidän lähtiessään hyvin sairaaksi-tekivät hänen palvelijansa salaliiton häntä vastaan pappi Joojadan pojan murhan tähden ja tappoivat hänet hänen vuoteeseensa; ja niin hän kuoli. Ja hänet haudattiin Daavidin kaupunkiin; kuitenkaan ei häntä haudattu kuningasten hautoihin.
