3. Niin Daavid tuli linnaansa Jerusalemiin. Ja kuningas otti ne kymmenen sivuvaimoa, jotka hän oli jättänyt palatsia vartioimaan, ja panetti heidät vartioituun taloon; ja hän elätti heitä, mutta ei mennyt heidän luoksensa. Siellä he olivat eristettyinä kuolinpäiväänsä asti, elävän miehen leskinä.
