14. Niin hänen vaimonsa Seres ja kaikki hänen ystävänsä sanoivat hänelle: "Tehtäköön hirsipuu, viittäkymmentä kyynärää korkea, ja pyydä huomenaamuna kuninkaalta, että Mordokai ripustetaan siihen, niin voit mennä kuninkaan kanssa pitoihin iloisena". Tämä puhe miellytti Haamania, ja hän teetti hirsipuun.
