17. ja jokaisessa maakunnassa ja kaupungissa, joka paikassa, mihin kuninkaan käsky ja hänen lakinsa tuli, oli juutalaisilla ilo ja riemu, pidot ja juhlat. Ja paljon oli maan kansoista niitä, jotka kääntyivät juutalaisiksi, sillä kauhu juutalaisia kohtaan oli vallannut heidät.
