1. Matkalaulu; Salomon virsi. Jos Herra ei huonetta rakenna, niin sen rakentajat turhaan vaivaa näkevät. Jos Herra ei kaupunkia varjele, niin turhaan vartija valvoo.
  
2. Turhaan te nousette varhain ja myöhään menette levolle ja syötte leipänne murheella: yhtä hyvin hän antaa ystävilleen heidän nukkuessansa.
  
3. Katso, lapset ovat Herran lahja, ja kohdun hedelmä on anti.
  
4. Niinkuin nuolet sankarin kädessä, niin ovat nuoruudessa synnytetyt pojat.
  
5. Onnellinen se mies, jonka viini on niitä täynnä! Eivät he joudu häpeään, kun portissa puhuttelevat vihamiehiänsä.
